How to Use a Playtex® Sport® Compact Tampon

To insert a compact tampon:

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water, and then unwrap the Playtex® Sport® Compact tampon. You should see a rounded applicator tip, a full-size finger grip for added comfort, and strings hanging from the bottom. If you notice any flaws, don't use the tampon.
  2. Place your fingers on the grip. Gently pull at the strings to ensure they are properly attached.
  3. Just pull-and-click into place. Slowly pull the plunger from the bottom of the tampon until it "clicks" into place.
  4. Get comfortable! Sit on the toilet with your knees apart or stand in front of the toilet with one foot on the toilet seat - whichever is more comfortable for you. Relax your muscles - the more comfortable you are, the easier it is to insert a tampon.
  5. Insert the applicator. Hold the Playtex® Sport® Compact on the finger grip using your middle finger and thumb and place the applicator into your vagina at a 45° angle. Gently slide the applicator into your vagina until your fingers touch your body.
  6. Push the tampon inside. Use your pointer finger to push the plunger into the barrel of the tampon. This releases the tampon, pushing it into your body. Stop pushing the plunger when it's inside the barrel completely, but don't release the finger grip.
  7. Remove the applicator. Slowly pull the two-piece applicator out. The tampon should feel comfortable inside you, with the strings outside your body. Place the used applicator back into the wrapping and throw it away. Do not flush the plastic applicator down the toilet.
  8. Any discomfort? You shouldn't feel the tampon or have any discomfort. If you do, the tampon may not be far enough inside. If this happens, remove the tampon and try again with a new one.

To remove your Playtex® Sport® Compact:

  1. Get back into the sitting or standing position you used when inserting the tampon.
  2. Relax your muscles.
  3. Gently pull down on the strings. The tampon should easily slide out.
  4. Wrap the tampon in toilet paper and place it in an appropriate waste container. Do not flush the used tampon in the toilet.

REMEMBER!

  • Do not use tampons between periods or for non-menstrual discharge.
  • Change your tampons every 4 to 8 hours.
